WINDHAM, Maine — The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office says that the driver of the car chase that led to a 3-vehicle accident has been arrested.
The suspect was identified as the driver of the 2007 Chevy Cobalt, Dale Tucker, 29, of Casco, who had been eluding police after an involvement in a domestic situation earlier Sunday morning in Casco.
When Tucker refused to stop and pull over for police, a spike mat was placed on Route 302 at the Raymond and Windham line. As Tucker approached the mat he swerved into the oncoming lane where he crashed into a car and truck in the opposite lane.
The driver of the 2000 Buick Park Avenue was identified as Barbara Young, 82, of Gray. In Young's vehicle were Elmer Young, 91, and Douglas Young, 60 years old.
All passengers in Barbara Young's vehicle were taken to Maine Medical Center for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the 2018 Chevy Z71 Pickup was identified as Tyler Bisson, 28, of Raymond.
Dale Tucker was arrested and taken to Maine Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Tucker has been charged with:
- Aggravated Driving to Endanger
- Aggravated Eluding a Law Enforcement Officer
- Criminal Speed
- Failure to Maintain Control of Vehicle
- Several M/V traffic infractions
Tucker is currently in custody at Maine Medical Center, and once he is released he will be taken to the Cumberland County Jail, pending arraignment.
The criminal investigation remains ongoing and additional charges could be forthcoming.
