BELMONT, Maine — Waldo County deputies Monday executed a search warrant connected to an ongoing investigation at a building on Augusta Road in Belmont.
Det. Zane Loper with the Waldo County Sheriff's Office reportedly developed information that there was an illegal marijuana-growing operation located at 425 Augusta Rd., the sheriff's office said in a release.
Deputies said while executing the search warrant more than 1,000 live plants were seized and dismantled from the large marijuana cultivation operation.
No arrests were made and the investigation remains ongoing, according to the release.
The sheriff's office said any charges that may stem from this incident will be reported at a later time.
Units remain on the scene, deputies said.
Homeland Security, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy, and the Town of Belmont assisted in the investigation and search warrant execution.
