DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — Around 1:40 p.m. Monday, Dover-Foxcroft police responded to a report of an attempted armed robbery in the area of Mechanic Street, a news release from the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department said.
"The victim reported having been approached by a subject who pulled a knife and demanded that they turn over their property," the release said. "The victim was able to get away unharmed and ultimately provided a very detailed description of the suspect."
The suspect was located based on the provided description in the area of Spring Street and Autumn Avenue, according to the release.
Police took the suspect into custody without incident. They were later identified as a minor, the release stated. Police said the minor's name will not be released at this time.
"The suspect has been charged with robbery and was released to their parents per the direction of the Juvenile Community Corrections Officer," the release said.
The Piscataquis Sheriff's Department and Piscataquis County Regional Communications Center assisted with the incident.
