EDDINGTON, Maine — A man has been arrested after police say he threw large rocks against his neighbor's house and smashed windows during an incident in Eddington Friday.

The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office said in a news release a female Eddington resident called 911 "reporting that she believed someone was actively shooting her windows out of her house with a gun" around noon.

She reportedly sheltered in place and told the Penobscot Regional Communications Center that she was hearing gunshots and had glass "all over her house."

A Penobscot County sheriff's deputy quickly responded to the residence, the sheriff's office said.

An investigation revealed 58-year-old Luther Green, a neighbor, had caused damage to the female's home by throwing large rocks against her house and through her windows, the sheriff's office said.
