BANGOR, Maine — The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA) arrested a Bangor woman Tuesday for drug trafficking after seizing over $10K worth of drugs from her home.

Jade Willette, 21, was arrested on three counts of Class A felony aggravated trafficking of Scheduled W drugs, according to a news release from Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss.

The MDEA's North Central Task Force recently opened an investigation into suspected drug trafficking at 166 Larkin St. in Bangor, where Willette resided. During the investigation, agents conducted controlled purchases of fentanyl and cocaine base (crack) from Willette, the release stated.

On Tuesday evening, MDEA agents and the Bangor Police Department's Special Response team executed a search warrant at Willette's home.

Officials seized approximately 40 grams of cocaine base (crack), 40 grams of suspected fentanyl, three firearms, and over $1,300 in suspected drug proceeds. Moss said the estimated street value of the drugs seized is $10,000.

Willette was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and charged with three counts of felony trafficking. The charges were "aggravated" because her residence was within 1,000 feet of the Vine Street School.

"More arrests are expected," the release stated.

The Bangor Police Department and agents with the USDEA and the Bureau of Indian Affairs assisted in the arrest and search warrant.

"The MDEA stands committed to working with all federal, state, county, and local law enforcement partners in order to continue to identify and disrupt drug trafficking organizations who are attempting to distribute illicit drugs in the State of Maine," the release said. "All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty."
