LISBON, Maine — A Lisbon Falls man is facing charges in connection with child exploitation.
At about 8 a.m. Monday, the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit executed a search warrant with Lisbon police and Homeland Security Investigations agents at 6 Ridge Rd. in Lisbon Falls, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a news release.
According to Moss, the search warrant was regarding an online child exploitation investigation.
Officials reportedly found evidence at the scene, and a resident of the home, 35-year-old Joseph Gibson, was taken into custody on two charges. Those charges include dissemination of sexually explicit material (Class A felony) and possession of sexually explicit material under 12 years of age (Class C felony), Moss stated.
"Out of an abundance of caution there was a soft lockdown at the nearby school as well as a short road closure," the release said Monday.
Moss said there is no threat to the public or the school.
