LIMINGTON, Maine — A man is facing charges after allegedly stabbing his grandfather and fleeing the scene Tuesday morning in Limington.
At about 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, state troopers responded to a report of an alleged assault at a home on July Street in Limington, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a news release.
Upon arrival, troopers discovered the homeowner, identified as 91-year-old Ronald McCarthy, suffering from injuries to his neck, according to Moss.
McCarthy was taken by ambulance to Maine Medical Center with "serious injuries."
Investigation into the incident revealed McCarthy's grandson, 34-year-old Daniel MacIsaac of Limington, had stabbed him and fled the scene, Moss said.
MacIsaac was located by troopers and arrested without incident. He was taken to York County Jail and charged with attempted murder and violation of conditions of release.
Moss said the investigation remains ongoing.
