Fairfield police search for 2 men after shots were fired inside an apartment

Fairfield police are searching for two men who allegedly fired several gunshots inside an apartment on Main Street.

FAIRFIELD, Maine — Police in Fairfield responded to a call early Friday morning about a report of shots fired at a resident's apartment on Main Street. As of Saturday morning, the two suspects had not been located.

On Nov. 24, around 1:25 a.m. Fairfield police responded to a 9-1-1 call from the American Lodge on 31 Main St. The caller said there were multiple shots fired in one of the apartments, according to a news release.

Upon arrival, Fairfield and Waterville police found a guest at the apartment who had reportedly been injured during an altercation with two unknown men. Early investigation suggests that, following the altercation, the two unknown men fired several gun shots inside the apartment and fled the scene, according to the release. Police told NEWS CENTER Maine in a follow-up on Saturday that the guest was not injured by gunfire and their condition was not serious. Police said they were not sure whether that person received medical attention.

Police said they do not believe there to be a threat to the public at this time and that the investigation is ongoing.

The Fairfield police were assisted at the scene by Fairfield-Benton Emergency Services and Delta Ambulance.

Officials are asking anyone with information about the two suspects to contact the Fairfield Police Department at 207-453-9321.
