CUSHING, Maine — A man from Cushing faces several charges after a man was found dead in the Knox County town over the weekend.

Mark Gagne, 41, was arrested Friday and charged with hindering apprehension and abuse of a corpse, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said Monday in a news release.

On Wednesday, Moss publicly identified the man who died as Kyle MacDougall, 45, of Waldoboro, adding his cause and manner of death would not be released at this time.

Maine State Police detectives and evidence response technicians responded to a residence on River Road on Friday and Saturday to conduct interviews and process the scene, which led to Gagne's arrest, the release stated.

Gagne is expected to make his first court appearance Monday.
