Israel Carpenter surrendered after a flashbang device was deployed, followed by negotiations, Clinton police said.

CLINTON, Maine — Clinton police, along with the Maine State Police Tactical Team, executed a search warrant on a camper across from 774 Main Street in Clinton early Thursday morning, resulting in one arrest.

According to a news release from the Clinton Police Department, officers arrested Israel Carpenter who reportedly had five active warrants, including four felony warrants, and was under three sets of felony release conditions and one set of misdemeanor release conditions.

Carpenter was arrested without incident after a flashbang device was deployed, followed by an hour of negotiations, according to Public Information Officer Mike Conners.

Officials disclosed that drugs, firearms, cash, and a stolen motorcycle were seized.

Conners said in the release that due to concerns about Carpenter being armed, the Maine State Police Tactical Team was called in to assist with the high-risk warrant.

  • 299.3 grams of methamphetamine
  • 48.8 grams of fentanyl
