Arrests made in Hermon assault, robbery incident

Penobscot County deputies said a man was "viciously attacked and robbed" on June 23 in Hermon. Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.

HERMON, Maine — Arrests have been made in connection with an assault and robbery incident that seriously injured a man in Hermon last month.

At about 3:45 a.m. on June 23, the Penobscot Regional Communications Center received a report about an injured male on Union Street in Hermon, the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

Law enforcement learned the male victim had "extensive injuries" as a result of an assault.

"As the investigation continued, Deputies soon learned the victim had been viciously attacked and robbed by known associates," the release stated. "The victim was transported to the hospital shortly after medical personnel arrived on the scene."

Shortly after, deputies said they were able to locate one of the suspect vehicles at the Holiday Inn on Odlin Road in Bangor. While deputies investigated the vehicle, three of the five suspects were identified from the attack and detained, according to the sheriff's office.

Detectives with the sheriff's office's criminal investigation division responded to assist with the investigation and conducted search warrants on two hotel rooms and one vehicle.

"During the search, Detectives located multiple bags of Crack Cocaine and other items of evidence," the release said.

Deputies said the following individuals were arrested and taken to the Penobscot County Jail:

  • Tory Kindred, 45, who currently lives in Old Town but is originally from New York, is charged with Class A robbery
  • Thomas Pope, 47, of Sicklerville, New Jersey, is charged with Class A robbery
  • 35-year-old Amanda Allard, 35, of Bangor, is charged with Class A robbery

Deputies added that additional suspects have been identified, will be located at a later date, and that additional charges are expected.
