PORTLAND, Maine — Nowhere was out of reach for the elusive Valentine's Day Bandit. His red hearts covered windows, construction sites, and forts all over Portland.
But a year after his passing, Mainers have continued the traditions of Kevin Fahrman. Once again, Portland and other Maine communities were covered in pictures of hearts in honor of the bandit.
In honor of her father, Sierra Fahrman launched The Fahrman Foundation to carry on his legacy at an event at Rising Tide Brewing Company Wednesday night..
"He was so generous, giving and kind," Fahrman said about her father. "He would want me to be doing the most with his memory.”
Fahrman said the foundation will benefit charitable causes dear to the bandit's heart. SailMaine and the Maine Academy of Modern Music are just two organizations the foundation will help.
Wednesday's event raised roughly $8,500 for the foundation.
