BRUNSWICK, Maine — Spectators and participants braved the cool, damp weather for the annual Brunswick-Topsham Memorial Day parade and observances held Monday.
The annual Memorial Day events included a parade and several observances at locations in the community. It was one of numerous ceremonies held in Maine and across the U.S. to honor fallen service members.
The parade route begins at the Topsham Town Hall, travels across Brunswick-Topsham bridge, pauses for a brief observance over the river, and ends at the Brunswick Mall.
"The Brunswick-Topsham Memorial Day Committee annually puts on a parade and observances on the Brunswick Mall in honor and remembrance of those who lost their lives in the United States Armed Forces," according to the committee website.
The guest speaker at this year's event was Lloyd Woods, National Executive Committeeman of the Maine Legion, according to the Maine Legion website.
