CASCO, Maine — A 24-year-old is behind bars for allegedly stalking a victim and threatening to hurt the victim and kill police if they were involved.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office says Nathan Locke was arrested in the early morning hours on Wednesday, May 8, at a home on Quaker Ridge Road in Casco.

Authorities say they investigated claims of stalking starting on Monday, May 6, where they learned Locke had contacted the victim numerous times despite a protection order. Deputies say Locke made threats to hurt the victim and Locke said if police were involved he would use deadly force against them.

Authorities tried to find Locke but were not successful for two days.

Due to the severity of the threats and Locke’s criminal history, the Cumberland County Emergency Services Unit was activated to help with the search and arrest.

Locke was taken to the Cumberland County Jail charged with terrorizing, stalking and violation of a protection from abuse order. His bail was set at $2,500 cash.
