Bob Evans

Bob Evans has been in the Maine news market for 25 years. He joined WLBZ TV2 in February of 2001. First as an assignment editor and now also as a Multimedia journalist at NEWS CENTER reporting around the state.

Evans began his news career in Bangor at WABI TV in 1986 as a photojournalist and then a producer. He left Bangor to work the assignment desk at WGME in Portland from 1996 to 1999. He returned to the Bangor market in 2000 to run the assignment desk for WVII TV 7 to be closer to his family until he teamed up with NEWS CENTER 2 in 2001.

Evans was born in Jacksonville, Florida but has been living in Maine since he was 5. He grew up in Waterville and attended the University of Maine in Augusta. He has two daughters, Kate and Taylor. He spends some of his spare time making music as a drummer and has been a very successful at it. He has opened up shows for several major artists such as Willie Nelson, Steve Wariner and Mary Chapin Carpenter.
