MAINE, USA — A beautiful fall day for the first fall Maine Maple Weekend. Maine, and other states around the northeast are participating this year.
"A lot of states have had a fall event on their radar and never really had the push to do it," Scott Dunn said.
Dunn is the president of the Maine Maple Producers Association and also the owner of Dunn Family Maple.
He said even though Maine Maple Sunday was canceled, there was still a demand from both customers, and also maple producers who weren't making money during the pandemic.
"To make up the losses they incurred," Dunn said.
Since the cancelation of Maine Maple Sunday the Maine Maple Producers Association has been busy trying to find ways to still have events.
"We've been steady, it's definitely not the same event that we normally have in the spring," Dunn said.
Not the same event, but an opportunity to try out a fall event, one that maple producers hope is here to stay.
