BANGOR, Maine — A high schooler from Old Town is creating quite a scene in Bangor, and it's a good one.
Hunter Theriault is a student at Old Town High School, but he also studies photography and videography at United Technologies Center.
And he's not your average student. In the lobby of UTC, you can see his photography exhibit on display. Chosen from 15,000 photos, his exhibit features other students working on their trades at UTC.
He also takes photos for the Waterfront Concerts and Cross Insurance Center in Bangor and said the secret to getting the chance to shoot the events is never letting negativity get in the way.
"If you really want something, you can go and do it. You don't have to listen to get a lot of negative. You get a lot of 'no's' in photography. Like, [in] event photography and concerts you get a lot of 'no's.' You can't shoot this show. But once you get that 'yes,' it's right on. It's something different. You get to do what you want. That's it," Theriault said.
Theriault is setting his sights to tour with musicians and people of interest telling their stories through his lens the exhibit is running through at least next Friday.
