Myler Makes It: Christmas Cookies

I went to one of the inns on the Mt. Washington Valley Inn to Inn Cookie Tour to make cinnamon chocolate chip cookies.

Myler Makes...Christmas Cookies!

When you hear about a Christmas cookie tour that takes you between multiple inns, you know you’ve got to go…right? Well, I did!

I got the scoop on the Mt. Washington Valley Inn to Inn Cookie Tour, and was lucky enough to be invited to the Inn at Crystal Lake to help bake one of their two cookie varieties for the year.

After a scenic drive to Eaton, New Hampshire, we arrived at the inn, where I met Tim Ostendorf, one of the owners. We didn’t waste any time, heading straight to the kitchen to start baking!

Our cookie of choice? Cinnamon chocolate chip cookies! (Perfect for me since I’m a cinnamon fan.) We mixed together all the usual ingredients before folding in the chocolate chips. Tim mentioned you can use any type of chocolate you prefer — so feel free to make the recipe your own. Then, we scooped out the dough and got it ready for baking. You can even roll the dough into a log and slice it into cookies if you prefer.

Bake, and voilà! You’ve got your perfect cinnamon chocolate chip cookies.

But the real highlight of the day was learning about the cookie tour. Starting on December 2, anyone can grab a ticket to hop from inn to inn, sampling two different cookies at each stop. How fun is that?

I also got a sneak peek at some of the other inns' signature cookies for this year. There were so many flavors in the cookies: pumpkin, chocolate, coconut (which I’m obsessed with), and plenty of unique combos.

The inns participating this year include the Inn at Crystal Lake and Snowvillage Inn in Eaton, the Samuel O'Reilly House in North Conway, the Inn at Ellis River in Jackson, and The Farmstand B&B in Tamworth.

I think it's time to grab a ticket and book a room! A snowy, cozy getaway sounds like the perfect way to experience this tour. For more info and tickets, check out the cookie tour website here.
