YARMOUTH, Maine — The Muddy Rudder seafood restaurant in Yarmouth has announced it is shutting its doors.
The restaurant shared the announcement Thursday morning on its Facebook page, saying it was "closing indefinitely effective immediately."
"For me The Rudder was not just a place to serve food and drink, it was a place of human connection," the post said. "Our guests and crew a like shared many memories that I will never forget."
The Yarmouth restaurant has been serving locals and visitors since 1976, sitting alongside a river for customers to take in views while they eat.
"It has truly changed my life," the post said. "You made a man’s dream come true and for that I will be forever grateful."
The reason for the closure was not shared in the announcement.
