SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — Moe’s BBQ in South Portland and Bangor will host a special fundraiser on Thursday, Nov. 7, to support three Moe’s locations in North Carolina that were heavily damaged by Hurricane Helene.
Moe's BBQ will donate 15% of all profits from its South Portland and Bangor locations to help the devastated restaurants in Asheville, Hendersonville, and Woodfin, North Carolina.
"As a franchise, we really consider each other family. All of the owners are very close with each other," Emma Campbell, a manager at Moe’s in South Portland, said.
Campbell also shared a former employee of Moe's in South Portland, Jeremy Larochelle, whop had recently been named part-owner of the Asheville location just before the hurricane hit. This is a big reason why staff want to help him and other owners get back on their feet.
“Specifically, Jeremy has poured his heart and soul into Moe's and was very, very excited to be an owner of one," Campbell said. "It's really important for us here and at our Bangor location to really come together and fundraise for him and all of his employees.”
The fundraiser will apply to all dine-in, call-in, and to-go orders on Nov. 7.
