TOPSHAM, Maine — The Market Basket in Topsham opened its doors at 7 a.m. on Friday.
Topsham is Maine's third Market Basket location. The other supermarket locations are in Biddeford and Westbrook.
"There are 52 Market Baskets in Massachusetts, 33 in New Hampshire, two in Rhode Island, and now we have three in Maine. So this is very exciting for us. We are happy to be here. We are happy that the community welcomes us. And I think that it's going to be important for a lot of people to come here and shop.” Says Valorie Polito, the store Operations Supervisor and Advertising Director.
Market Basket was excited to share that this Topsham location will feature freshly-made doughnuts daily. It's something they said has proven to be popular in their other locations and will be the first time the store is offering it in Maine.
The Topsham Market Basket will offer general grocery products along with departments including a bakery, Market’s Kitchen, Market's Cafe, Niji Sushi, and more.
"I personally, as manager, can't wait to interact with new customers and show them the Market Basket and what it's all about. It’s going to be a lot of fun," Puscy said.
