MAINE, USA — If you take a peek at the Lucky Pup Rescue website, Riggs is posing in his adoption photo with Santa, which tells you how long he's been waiting for his forever home. In fact, it's his second round in foster care after his last adopter became sick and had to surrender him.
At 7-years-old and 40 pounds, he's a little more relaxed, though he loves to play and run. The folks at Lucky Pup Rescue call him a world-champion snuggler and acceptor of belly rubs.
He's currently in foster care with a cat and a female dog. He's intrigued by the cat, but the cat isn't interested. His foster sister loves to play fight with him, then snuggle up for a nap. He's also fine zooming around the backyard, entertaining himself.
Lucky Pup says Riggs has been through basic training and knows commands, including sit, down, wait, and paw.

Lucky Pup Rescue is foster-based, and therefore doesn't have a physical location. To ask any questions or inquire about one of the dogs on the website, email is the best way to reach the organization: Luckypuprescue@yahoo.com
"We are happy to answer any questions and inquiries into our dogs but prefer email," the website explains. "We sometimes are busy running children and dogs to various events, so please be patient and we will get back to you as soon as possible! This allows us to answer at odd hours (which is what we keep!) and all of us have full-time jobs with various hours. Rescue is our volunteer position so we appreciate your patience with us."
