PORTLAND, Maine — Ben is a 1-year-old Shepherd and Great Pyrenees mix living in foster care through Lucky Pup Rescue in Maine.
"This is the sweetest and most sensitive puppy we have ever fostered," Ben's foster parent, Ellen Nelson said. All he needs now is his forever family.
If you think that might be you, learn more information about meeting Ben through LuckyPupRescueMaine.org.
Ben came to Lucky Pup from the south, where he had been living outside and at a doggy daycare facility. While in foster care he has learned how to navigate doorways and stairs and has explored the beach. His foster family says he loves to chew but hasn't chewed anything off-limits while under supervision.
They also say Ben is crate trained and house trained and goes to the door when it's time to do his business.
He loves to cuddle, and is slightly nervous about new things he's learning, but is willing to learn. He's calm for a puppy but does enjoy playing with his 8-year-old foster human. That said, his foster family recommends a home with kids that are mostly calm and respectful with animals.
Ben has a high prey drive with the chickens at the home. He does well with other dogs but hasn't been tested yet with cats.
