MAINE, USA — Rainbow is such a beautiful name for this gray girl who has a lot of love to give.
She's a midsized dog and about a year and a half old. She was found as a pregnant stray in Georgia and gave birth to nine puppies, which were all sent to other shelters that could help find them homes.
Rainbow and two of her pups ended up at Midcoast Humane in Brunswick. She's been in foster care with a family that has small children and cats. She's gotten along well with all of them, according to Jess Townsend with Midcoast Humane.
Rainbow gently accepts treats and will sit for food, which makes training a breeze. She hasn't had any indoor accidents recently, but she will likely take some training to adapt to your lifestyle at home. She gets along with other dogs from what they've been able to tell, though it's always worth introducing her to other family members before she comes home with you.
Rainbow is strong enough to take on hikes or adventures, but also small enough to lift into the car. She's an absolute sweetheart with manners and is looking for her forever home. Her puppies will be available for adoption sometime in the near future.
Midcoast Humane is located at 5 Industrial Parkway in Brunswick. Adoption hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day except Wednesday. They'll be hosting a puppy adoption event at Footbridge Brewery in Boothbay Harbor April 13 from noon to 4 p.m. Puppies that have been spayed/neutered and microchipped will all be available for meet and greets and adoptions.
