FRYEBURG, Maine — Despite his seven years, Red is still spunky and ready for adventures. The beagle came to Harvest Hills Animal Shelter as a surrender, when his owner changed jobs and wasn't able to spend as much time with him.
Red has been at Harvest Hills for about a month and has been very friendly with everyone, according to executive director Joan McBurnie. He loves cats, dogs, and kids. He's an in-your-face greeter with other dogs, so if you have one at home, you'll want to try them together first.
Since being with Harvest Hills, Red has lost weight because he's exercising more. He has also had his teeth cleaned and a few teeth pulled. It hasn't slowed down his drive for food, as any typical beagle, nor his interest in sniffing. His ideal home would have a place where he can be fenced in or on a leash.
This boy is ready to give you all of his love in return for your attention.

Harvest Hills Animal Shelter is open by appointment only. The easiest thing to do is to fill out an application on their website, harvesthills.org. They'll call you to set up a one-hour appointment, in which you can take the animal you're interested in for a walk or hang in their "living room" setup. Harvest Hills is located at 1389 Bridgton Road in Fryeburg.
