Fetch ME a Home: Puppies Clara and Kristoff need forever homes

Clara and Kristoff are about two months old and are looking for their new homes through the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland.

WESTBROOK, Maine — It can be tough to tell exactly how large a puppy will grow when it comes into the shelter as a mix, but the Animal Refuge League is fairly sure both Clara and Kristoff will be about 50 pounds. Right now, they're just tiny two-month-olds.

As siblings, they are being adopted out separately—but stopped by the studio together for a two-for-one. These two came up from a shelter in Georgia and are recently fixed and ready for their adoptions.

When visiting, Clara was more likely to curl up in your arms, but both have a healthy interest in playing with toys and each other. If your dog at home is ready for a canine companion that will bring in a little energy, either one could be the right fit for you.

ARLGP always recommends meeting any canine or cat or small animal before bringing it into your home, to make sure it's a good fit. You can also meet with a canine adoption counselor who will talk about introducing your new puppy to any resident felines or training and socialization.

There are a number of ways to support the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland including its upcoming fundraiser: the 2024 Shelter Sleep-In. This year, 15 participants are vying to raise the most money ahead of spending the evening cuddled up with one of the shelter's adoptable pets on Nov. 15.

ARLGP invites all who donate to join the Pajama Pawty from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., where participants will have decorated their kennels and will be making last pushes for donations.
