Fetch ME a Home: Meet Phoebe, Miss Piggy, and Peppa Pig

Phoebe the American guinea pig and her two babies, Miss Piggy and Peppa Pig, are looking for their forever home.

KENNEBUNK, Maine — Phoebe, a black and brown American guinea pig, arrived at the Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk in February. The AWS has been looking for a home for her since then—but it has to be a home that can also take in her two offspring, Miss Piggy and Peppa Pig.

All three are females. Phoebe is just over a year old, and Miss Piggy and Peppa Pig are nearly four months old. They have not been spayed.

Soon after the three arrived in our studio, they were quietly nibbling on green peppers, which help prevent scurvy. It turns out that guinea pigs, like humans, can develop scurvy if they don’t follow the right diet. If you already knew that fact, trying out for “Jeopardy!” is something you might want to consider.
