Fetch ME a Home: Gomez needs a home for the holidays

Gomez is old enough to have some training but young enough to still want a fun family to play with.

LEWISTON, Maine — Look at that handsome face! Gomez is a smart and funny boy who will happily show off the tricks he knows in exchange for treats or a tennis ball.

The 5-year-old mix weighs about 85 pounds and is available for adoption through the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society in Lewiston. He clearly knows how to pose for a camera and walks well on a leash, so he's well-mannered!

Those at the shelter say he'd do well in a family home, one looking to take him for walks and play outside. Gomez loves attention and playing fetch — in fact, he could play for hours.

If you are looking to adopt, this is a guy who likes to be the only animal in the home. He's not into off-leash wrestling which other dogs are usually into, but he will happily join other animals for on-leash activities like hiking, walking, and running.

Due to his size and energy level, the shelter wants to meet any new family members, especially small children, before sending him home. That said, stop by 55 Strawberry Ave. in Lewiston Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. during adoption hours, or call ahead to schedule a meeting.
