LEWISTON, Maine — Fenway could be the home run you're looking for.
This seven-year-old girl is such a sweetheart when meeting new friends. She's looking for a home that can help keep her somewhat active and on her weight loss plan.
The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society in Lewiston believes she's some sort of pittie mix with a little extra to love, weighing about 100 pounds.
Fenway smiled at everyone she met on her walk into our studio for her Fetch feature. Delanie Strout with GAHS said while she loves playing with other dogs and meeting up for walks, she would do best in a home in which she's the only one vying for your attention.
Fenway loves short leisurely walks, sunbathing, and quiet days on the couch with you. She has lived with a cat before and did well. Strout told us she has also lived with people from newborns to teenagers and did really well with them (she really loves people)! That said, she does jump when excited which can be intimidating with her size, so have any kids meet her before she goes home with you.
This sweet girl knows basic commands, including sit, and is good on a leash, although pulls a bit when there's a chance to meet new people.

Join members of the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society at its Golden Paws Awards on Sept. 12. It's an awards show featuring a silent auction and dinner, all to raise money for the animals. You can learn more about that here.
