Fetch ME a Home: Crystaline was sick and abandoned at the shelter

This six-year-old cat had an infection when she was dropped off in the P.A.L.S. lobby. She's been fixed up, but will now need a special diet.

WINTHROP, Maine — Crystaline is described as a sweet and loving cat. At six years old, she's had a rough year and is ready to relax in her new home.

She's been with P.A.L.S. (Protectors of Animal Life Society) in Winthrop since September. The shelter said they found Crystaline in a crate left in their lobby where someone had dumped her and ran. Once they took the cat out of her kennel, they found she was quite sick with pyometra (an infected uterus) and chronic constipation.

The folks at P.A.L.S. got her all fixed up, but she will require a special diet of prescription canned GI food and lactulose 2-3 times daily long term.

Crystaline will be fine in a home with other cats or kids, because she's so sweet.

To schedule an adoption appointment, call 207-395-4274 Friday-Monday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Tuesday-Thursday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Her adoption fee is $100, and if it's a right fit you can take her home with you.
