BANGOR, Maine — Bagheera is about to celebrate her fourth birthday in a shelter. She's been with the Bangor Humane Society for two years and is looking for her forever home.
As a Great Pyrenees mix, Bagheera weighs in at 88 pounds so ideally she finds a home with someone who can manage a dog that size. Chelsea Brown with the Humane Society tells us that Bagheera is also known to staff as "Goofy girl" or "Baggie" and loves to go for walks. She said Bagheera understands basic commands and walks well on a harness.
She does love to give hugs (and that's a lot of dog to hug) so again, she's looking for someone who can manage her size. Having spent a lot of time at the shelter, Baggie doesn't have a lot of home experience so she'd likely need some help with an introduction.
Ideally, Brown said she should be the only dog in the home, as she likes all the attention.
She's got lots of energy and loves to play in the snow, often getting the "zoomies" outside.
Ready to bring home 88 pounds of happy love? Here are the winter hours for the Bangor Humane Society at 693 Mt. Hope Ave:
Tuesday-Thursday 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
