Gift wrapping stations at Maine Mall support blind, visually impaired

All proceeds will go toward services supporting people who are blind or visually impaired.

(NEWS CENTER Maine) — If you prefer to wait until the weekend to do your holiday shopping and don't care to wrestle with wrapping paper, the Iris Network, which helps the blind and visually impaired learn skills or train for employment, is wrapping gifts at The Maine Mall for anyone who needs it.

The organization will have two stations set up inside the mall: one inside Winter Wonderland, located in the former Filene's and Bon-Ton, and another at The Maine Mall gift wrapping area.

All proceeds will go toward services supporting people who are blind or visually impaired.

"Not only does it help the charity, but it helps busy shoppers who really don't want to wrap their own gifts," a spokesperson said. "We're taking donations in any amount that people think is fair for however many gifts we wrap."

If you aren't planning to be at the mall this weekend, rest easy. Other charitable organizations will be offering wrapping services throughout the holiday season.

The Maine Mall is located at 364 Maine Mall Rd. in South Portland.
