Portland taproom announces that it will close

Banded Brewing shared the Portland closure announcement on its social media.

PORTLAND, Maine — [Editor's note: The above video originally aired in September.]

A taproom in Portland announced on Wednesday that it'll close its location.

Banded Brewing wrote in an Instagram post that this will be the last week the business will operate its Portland taproom.

"We’ve made this decision with Banded’s sustainability and growth at the forefront. We believe that closing our Portland space will allow our team to better use our resources to support our home taproom and kitchen in Biddeford, and our production brewing operations. Biddeford has always been our home, and we’re excited to continue to elevate our taproom experience by providing the best beer, food, vibes, and service that we can," the post stated.

Banded Brewing wrote that it'll be open for normal hours Wednesday through Saturday.

"We’ll be saying goodbye to this location and showing appreciation to all who’ve helped support our taproom 82 Hanover by offering $5 pints and $10 four-packs for the rest of the week. We hope you’ll be able to stop by! Thank you for the past three years in Portland," the post stated.

This comes after  Petite Jacqueline announced its closure in September. In a previous story, NEWS CENTER Maine reported that rising costs, minimum wage, and post-pandemic struggles are taking a toll on small businesses.
