PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- It was a nice night for a stroll on the red carpet and a zombie apocalypse.

Kyle Rankin's "Night of the Living Deb" premiered at the Nickelodeon Patriot Cinemas in Portland tonight.

It's a romantic zombie comedy starring Maria Thayer, Michael Cassidy and Ray Wise. Wise and Rankin attended the premiere.

The 90-minute film was shot in Portland last June. Many area businesses and hundreds of local people worked on the production, played zombies in the film or just gave their time to help realize Rankins' dream of destroying Portland in a Zombie Apocalypse.

Rankin is a Maine native who made films in Portland in the 1990s, before winning "Project Greenlight" and moving to Los Angeles.
