Mainers remember Stan Lee

BANGOR (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- Stan Lee is being remembered across the comic book community and right here in Maine.

Customers that just wanted to be around their favorite characters after hearing about the death of Lee.

Characters that are easy to relate to and who revitalized the comic book world.

Marvel fans say the characters Lee created inspire and motivate them to be better and to help others.

"There's a lot of bad in the world and super heroes and the heroes he created and other people created really kind of help to bring some goodness to a world that a lot of bad things are happening in and a way to try and live your life and base your life off of." Daniel Mott said.

Lee is credited with making these super heroes less like heroes, and more like regular people.

While comic book fans are sad to hear of his death, they're happy he lived a long life and gave them the characters they love.

"I think his legacy is kind of taking characters and larger than life figures and grounding them and humanizing them." Nathaniel Gray said.

Lee died earlier today after being rushed to a Los Angeles hospital.
