Shipyard Radio 207 Songwriter Round

Where: Shipyard Brewing, Portland

When: Dec. 19 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Live happy hour event with Maine singers and songwriters at the debut Shipyard Radio 207 songwriter round. It features Will and Reid from 12/OC, Don Campbell, Toby McAllister, Isaiah Bennett, Joel Thetford, Buck Edwards, and more.

FRIDAY, DEC. 20

Jason Anderson + Friends: Home for the Holidays (A Benefit for Cross Roads House)

The Dance Hall, Kittery

Dec. 20 from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Featuring indie/folk artist Jason Anderson and other musicians. A set of soulful covers, wintry originals, and a handful of holiday classics. Raising money for Cross Roads House, which offers shelter and solutions for the homeless.

SATURDAY, DEC. 21

Winter Solstice Gathering

Ferry Beach Retreat and Conference Center, Saco

Dec. 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Please come prepared with what you will be letting go of (metaphorically) from this past year, and what you would like to bring in to the new year.

35th Annual Last Minute Christmas Arts & Craft Fair

The Augusta Armory

Dec. 21 and Dec. 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Portland Ballet's A Victorian Nutcracker

Westbrook Performing Arts Center

Dec. 21 at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. and Dec. 22 at 2 p.m.

This version is unique to Portland and its history, as the first act takes place in the Victoria Mansion with characters pulled directly from Portland's past.
