TOPSHAM, Maine — The Topsham Fair is officially underway at the Topsham Fairgrounds.
Things kicked off on Tuesday with events in the Pulling Arena, and then the Axe Women Loggers of Maine put on a show for crowds. They'll be performing their logging skills throughout the week and weekend.
Twenty dollars will get you into the fair and according to the fair's website that includes an unlimited ride bracelet. Rides range from the swings to teacups and roller coasters.
There are games and shows throughout the day each day of the fair. Of course, you'll also find tasty treats ranging from fried dough to blueberry lemonade to grilled sausages.
We spoke with Jared Goodwin working behind the grill at King Family Cookhouse. Goodwin said one of his favorite things about fair season is the people.
"Just the interaction, having a good time, seeing the kids run around having a good time," Goodwin said. "Different people here and there but a lot of the same, especially for us. People come back and are recurring customers and that's what we like to see."
