BANGOR, Maine — A celebration of the arts brought out a crowd to Bangor Saturday
The Downtown Bangor Partnership held the first Downtown Bangor Sidewalk Art Festival in 10 years.
“Putting together the sidewalk art festival and pulling in all the different individuals and organizations that are already in Maine making amazing artwork just seemed like a really good fit for Bangor,” said Downtown Bangor Coordinator Betsy Lundy.
More than 50 artists showcased their creations. Everything from homemade doll houses to detailed oil paintings were featured.
“I think it’s beautiful. Economically, it’s a big injection for the area, I’m sure. It’s a nice perfect day and it’s a great opportunity for artists,” says local artist Joe Rizzo.
Live theatre performances, music, and glass blowers were also part of the festivities.
