BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) – The Bangor State Fair returns to the Cross Insurance Center for its 167th year with more attractions, food, performances and games than ever.
This year, the Bangor State Fair has 24 games, 20 food vendors, and 30 games for people of all ages.
There will also be a variety of shows by monster trucks, Nerveless Nocks stunts, and Jimmy Riffle the famous gator wrestler doing demonstrations each day.
This year, they are also incorporating more entertainment with the Cross Insurance Center than in years past. Saturday, July 30th, actor and comedian Ron White will be performing there during the fair.
“The fair is an ever evolving thing just like our community is entertainment-wise and the fair has been coming here for over 160 years,” said Joe Imbriaco, General Manager of Spectra Venue Management, managers of the Bangor State Fair and Cross Insurance Center.
Imbriaco also said the most popular fad in fair food currently is deep fried specialties, like deep fried jelly beans and deep fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, that the Bangor State Fair will have available.
“This year we kicked off our Making Memories program pretty much figuring that all generations come to the fair year after year after year and our job is making memories for them,” said E.J. Dean, Fiesta Shows president.
Admission is $12, but they are holding special military and senior discount days.
Free admission is provided if you donate blood to the American Red Cross in Bangor this week.
