Brian Yocono is an anchor at NEWS CENTER Maine.

This is Brian’s return to the NEWS CENTER Maine team. He was the Weekend Anchor and a reporter based in Lewiston from 2006-2011.

While not on camera, Brian works closely with the team of reporters, digital team, and marketing team enterprising, developing, and enhancing the important stories that impact Maine families.

A Maine native and Leavitt Area High School graduate, he has covered nearly every corner of the state. After graduating Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania, Brian started his career in Freeport in radio. With generous coaching from former NEWS CENTER Maine reporter Chris Facchini and photojournalist Harry Harris.

Brian transitioned to television news as a reporter in Presque Isle. He then gradually moved south with a stop in Bangor and then Portland.

He left Maine in 2011 for an anchor/reporter opportunity at WCPO in Cincinnati. Most recently he spent the past eight-plus years at WPRI in Providence. Five of those years he was an anchor and the assistant news director.

A defining moment in Brian’s career direction came during career day at Tripp Middle School. The late Ann Murray, a NEWS CENTER Maine reporter, and Harry Harris visited the school. Brian was hooked.

Maine has always been home. The opportunity to return to the station he grew up watching in this capacity with such a passionate team of journalists is a career dream come true.
