ETNA, Maine — A driver is hospitalized after a tractor-trailer overturned off the side of Interstate 95 in Etna Thursday morning.
At about 6 a.m. Thursday, state troopers responded to a report of a tractor-trailer crash near mile marker 164 on Interstate 95 southbound in Etna, a news release from Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said.
The driver, 59-year-old Nelson Castrol, of Homestead, Florida, was reportedly traveling on I-95 when his vehicle left the roadway, causing the tractor-trailer to roll over onto the left median, according to the release.
Due to the crash, Castrol was partially ejected and pinned for approximately an hour and a half before fire and EMS personnel could remove him from the vehicle, Moss said.
Moss said Castrol was taken to a hospital with injuries that appear to be not life-threatening.
"The passing lane is shut down and is expected to be until at least noon time. The cause of the crash is under investigation," Moss stated.
