PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- The temperature in Portland hit 68 degrees at 2:39 p.m., setting a new record high temperature for the month of February.
The previous record of 64 degrees, set on February 26, 1957, was broken by at least four degrees.
Sanford hit the mid-70s, with a high temperature of at least 74 degrees.
The mountains were warm as well, with Rangeley hitting 64 degrees around lunchtime.
Central and eastern Maine had a more difficult time warming up. Temperatures were held to the 50s with more cloud cover and a wind off of the cold ocean.
