FAIRFIELD, Maine — State police are investigating after a male was found dead in Fairfield Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., Fairfield police responded to a residence located on Main Street where a male was found dead, according to a news release from Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss.
The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit-Central was reportedly called to assist in the investigation.
Moss said the male's body was brought to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to confirm the cause and manner of his death.
At this time, there is reportedly no danger to the public. No further information will be released at this time, according to Moss.
The investigation is ongoing.
