Bangor police investigating two convenience store robberies within 6 hours

BANGOR (NEWS CENTER Maine) — Police in Bangor are investigating two robberies within 6 hours that occurred late Sunday night into Monday morning.

According to Sgt. Wade Betters, police responded to a reported robbery at Foster's Airport On the Run (1187 Union St.) at about 11:40 p.m. Sunday. Officers were unable to locate a suspect and were told that a lone person displaying no weapons made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was hurt.

Six hours later at 4:55 a.m. Monday, police again responded to a reported robbery, this time at State Street On the Run (96 State St.). A search by officers found no suspect and, like the earlier reported robbery, they were told no weapons were involved and cash was stolen.

Bangor police said it's still unclear whether the two robberies are related.

Detectives from the Bangor Police's criminal investigation division are following up both cases.
